GES4SEAS Welcomes the Music School of Heraklion to HCMR Labs
The GES4SEAS project recently had the pleasure of hosting students from the Music School of Heraklion at the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR) labs in Crete, Greece. This educational visit was an inspiring blend of science and music, where students explored the marine ecosystem of Elounda Bay and delved into the critical topic of Good Environmental Status (GES).
During their visit, students engaged in hands-on activities in the HCMR labs, laying the groundwork for an upcoming article related to a marine environmental issue. This initiative is part of GES4SEAS’ commitment to integrating education with environmental conservation.
To assess the impact of this intervention, students were given a feedback questionnaire before and will again be given one after the development of all activities, including the visit, a field trip, and the article’s review. This questionnaire aims to measure changes in their knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours towards marine environmental challenges.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to bridge the gap between education and marine conservation.
